1,200 years before Descartes famously said, “I think, therefore I am.” St. Augustine said, “Fallor ergo sum” which means “I err, therefore I am.” Being wrong is a huge part of human nature. But humans don’t like being wrong. We have a strong desire to be right and we have a strong fear of being […]

I recently turned 25 years old. Birthdays are often a great time for reflection. This year, mostly these past few months, there were many lessons and many hard reminders in my life. I recently had to make a hard decision.
As much as I knew I had to make the decision, I didn’t want to.
I didn’t want to. I didn’t want to. I didn’t want to.
But I did it.
It was actually the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make.
Even as an anxious, non-confrontational person who doesn’t like making decisions and sometimes tends to avoid facing problems, I still did it.
Now, I am much happier.
The hard decision I had to make was leaving a relationship that was creating unhappiness in my life and wasn’t in alignment with my values and future.
The following tips on how to make a hard decision can apply to not only breakups, but leaving a job, ending a friendship, moving away, or any painful, uncomfortable or scary change that we have to make for the better.
Here, I share what I learned and how I was able to make an emotionally tough decision.
When it comes to learning subjects and topics, we normally first think about subjects we learn in school like math, English, or history.
Or we think about subjects that can advance our careers like engineering, search engine optimization,
Or even fun new hobbies like acting, drawing, skiing or tennis.
But what if we can learn about subjects that will dramatically impact our lives and that we will actually use 10+ years down the road.
These three subjects are sometimes worked on and set goals for, but many of us don’t look at them as things to be learned.
There is a science to these three things which means that these things can be learned.
These are things that everyone should learn about. They are probably more important and useful to our lives than many of the stuff we learn in school.
Learning about these three things that everyone should learn about can allow us to live happier and more successful and fulfilling lives.

If we don’t feel like we belong, we risk loneliness, depression, anxiety, a short lifespan, and poor physical health. Belonging and finding our people is critical to living a healthy, successful, happy, fulfilling life.
Here are some steps to take to find your people, your tribe to genuinely connect with others and belong.
In this digital age, we are more connected than ever, yet we are physically starved for connection, touch, social belonging, and community.
