A few months ago, I purchased Blog With a Full Time Job by Natalie Bacon. I had been following Natalie for a few months and was so exciting about her new course, I got it just two days after she launched it.
Time management is a struggle for me, so the title and purpose of the course was what made me interested in the course along with the course being unlike other blogging courses.
Blog With a Full Time Job changed the way I look at and approach blogging. It also helped me with having the right mindset, productivity, and time management for blogging. I’ve purchased a lot of blogging courses, and this one was like no other.

About Natalie Bacon
Natalie Bacon started her blogging journey as a lawyer with $200,000 of student loan debt from law school. She began blogging about finance and personal development as a way to help pay her student loan debt. She soon learned that it was possible to make money blogging.
Through blogging, she was able to turn her six-figure loan debt into a six-figure business in 3 years. Natalie did this all while working full time. She went from lawyer to financial planner and then quit her job to blog full-time. She teaches others how to design their dream lives and build a six-figure business through blogging while working full time.
My Experience with Blog with a Full Time Job
Blog With a Full Time Job is through Teachable which is my favorite online course platform. This makes it super easy to navigate. It’s self-paced so you can go through it as fast or slow as you want. It also tracks your progress on how far you’re in the course. You even get a certificate of completion when you finish the course!
I was really exciting going through the course. I found a lot of the content interesting and unique. There were so many nuggets of wisdom as well as strategies that I found really valuable.
She really knows how to demonstrate and illustrate her points. I was never confused because she explained everything elaborately. Everything made sense.
With a major healthy dose of realism, she made my blogging goals seem absolutely possible and doable. I didn’t feel overwhelmed like with other blogging courses.
I was left feeling motivated and inspired after finishing the course with a 12-month plan to make money on my blog. I also knew that I would be revisiting the lessons once I got more advanced with blogging and monetizing.
What I Loved
Focused Content
Natalie doesn’t overwhelm you with all the different things you need to be doing. So much goes into blogging. She teaches you to prioritize on the stuff that really matters and exactly what that stuff is. I talk a lot about the 80/20 rule on my articles which is that 80% of your results are from 20% of your actions. Natalie teaches you what that 20% is. This saves so much time, energy, and guesswork.
The Phases
I love that Blog With a Full Time Job is broken up into phases instead of just randomly categorized jumbled information. Everything is so organized. She gives you an estimated timeline about where you should want to be from launching your blog. She shares what exactly you should be focusing on and at what phase during your blogging journey.
It’s interesting and engaging
Natalie doesn’t just discuss boring technicalities and to-dos with blogging. She discusses interesting principles on marketing, business, and mindset. She also knows how to keep you motivated with actionable steps you can take.
I was captivated throughout. It also felt like a lightbulb kept turning on in my mind as she was speaking. I learned a ton. This allowed me to finish the course faster than I thought and be able to go through it a second time.
Lessons on Mindset, Productivity, and Time Management
She includes lessons all about having the right mindset which is crucial to being a successful blogger and online entrepreneur. She also includes lessons on productivity and time management which is HUGE if you want to be successful in blogging.
If you can’t manage your time or have the right mindset, it doesnโt matter what you know, you’re going to have a harder time being successful. As a lover and blogger of personal development, I know how important that is to success with anything. I love how she lays out that foundation.
Extras, Bonuses, and Resources
Natalie includes worksheets and workbooks to help you along with PDFs of the PowerPoint slides in conjunction with her videos. This is great if you just want to quickly go back to the main points and read them without having to watch the video through. I also love that there are ten different bonuses. Natalie definitely over-delivered in value. She also gives you more resources and tools that she personally uses.
It’s different than other blogging courses
Natalie has a unique view and approach on monetizing that focuses a lot on marketing.
Instead of focusing only on blogging, she focuses on building an online business. This is something a lot of blogging courses miss.
Bite-Sized Lessons
Many of the lessons are digestible and not really long. They are short, but comprehensive. Making progress on the course is easier if you can only put in a bit of time a day. It also really helps the learning process as too much information at once can get overwhelming and is easy to forget.
Facebook Community
In Natalie’s private Facebook community, you can exclusively connect with and have access to Natalie Bacon and other likeminded individuals with any questions you might have or wins you want to share.
Student Q&A
Natalie includes a regularly updated page on her course with student questions that she receives with answers.
High-quality Content
There is so much high-quality content. It’s jam-packed with information. I love that there is an advanced strategies section in this course that goes in depth. I don’t have to move on to another course when I get more advanced. This is what other blogging courses lack that don’t share the next steps.
What I Didn’t Like and Could Be Improved
I loved Blog With a Full Time Job so much, it was hard for me to find something I didn’t like about it. But nothing is perfect. The downside about this course is that if you don’t actually do the work that she suggests, it’s useless. The strategies have to be implemented for them to work.
Also, naturally that takes time and effort to see results. I would’ve loved if Natalie included a progress tracker of some sort. I’m probably just being nitpicky here because anyone can just sit down and make a plan themselves which is what I did.
Is This Course For You?
One thing that’s great about Blog With a Full Time Job is that it’s for beginner to intermediate bloggers. Intermediate bloggers or those who have already launched their blog can just skip over the start a blog section.
I had already designed my blog when I took this course and I got so much out of it. The information on marketing alone is extremely valuable, not to mention the productivity, time management, and mindset information alone.
If you haven’t started or launched a blog, Natalie gives you detailed and specific instructions on how to set up, design, and launch a blog with WordPress that looks like her blog at NatalieBacon.com.
If you want to make more money from your blog or you want to turn your blog into a business, this course is for you. It’s probably too beginner for those who are already making $5,000 a month blogging.
Although it’s titled Blog With a Full Time Job, you don’t need to have a full-time job to receive the benefits from this course. This course is great even for SAHMs, students, people with part-time jobs, or people working on their blog full-time.
Like I stated earlier, time management and productivity is a personal struggle for me so that alone was one of the reasons I purchased this course. It’s for any blogger that wants to reach blogging success more planned and efficiently.
Overall, this course has immense value and I’m so happy I purchased it. I learned so much. I would 100% recommend it.

Hi Isabella, thanks for the detailed review. I was wondering if your results (after taking the course + implementing the strategies Natalie teaches) paid off the course (time/money) investment. And if so, how long did it take you to see your first results? I’m on the verge of purchasing the course, so I’d really appreciate any thoughts on this. Thank you! ๐
Hi Marcelle! Yes, absolutely it did. It took me about 2 months after finishing the course to start making money. It was definitely the best blogging investment I made considering all the other top ones I also purchased. Hope that helps ๐
Hi Isabella, thanks for your honest review of Natalie’s course. Do you think it was solely Natalie’s course which motivated and got you to monetize your blog, or it was a combination of a few different courses from the popular blog courses out there?
Hi Nancy, thank you for your comment! It wasn’t solely Natalie’s course that helped me, but it was definitely the catalyst. I found Natalie’s course to be the most comprehensive and well laid out, especially for the price and it being only one course.
